PRP
for knee joints

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared from a sample of your own blood and injected into a joint. The clinic’s menu includes ultrasound-guided knee-joint appointments.

WHAT IT IS

Joint care.
Informed decisions.

For knee osteoarthritis, NICE says evidence of effectiveness is limited in quality and recommends special arrangements for governance, consent and audit or research. PRP should not be presented as a proven way to regrow cartilage or cure arthritis.

Ask about alternatives such as tailored exercise and other appropriate osteoarthritis care, expected recovery, follow-up and how outcomes will be reviewed.

YOUR SAFETY COMES FIRST

Consultation before
commitment.

Injection can cause pain, bruising, bleeding or infection. The diagnosis, medicines and general health should be assessed before a procedure is considered.

Time to ask.
Space to decide.

Bring your questions and tell us what matters to you. We will discuss the proposed plan, alternatives, costs and follow-up before you decide whether to proceed.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions,
answered.

01 Β· Is PRP a guaranteed treatment for knee pain?

No. The cause of pain needs assessment, and the quality of evidence for knee osteoarthritis remains limited.

02 Β· Is this the same as a PRP facial?

No. Joint treatment has a different purpose, assessment and consent process from cosmetic PRP.
